The institution which has shaped you up, made the man out of your amorphous clay suddenly becomes an extension of the occupant forces – something villainous as it sounds to me. It doesn’t astonish me because when I look at the compartments of it, qualifications apart, the education compartment of it is loudly based on weak fundamentals. For if the foundation of it would have been possessing the requisite amount of strength and value, you wouldn’t have been vilifying the very institution having chiselled you into someone who’s effectively tossing his digits on the keyboard and trigger as well (albeit for an unlawful reason from where I see).
Your conscientious decision of divorcing the pen for gun was a choice of yours in entirety for which you’re trying gain that tinge of sanctity with the age old worn, torn and overused narrative of India holding Kashmir by military might. It’s about time that it is broken to you that you or your voice from the hills alone doesn’t represent Kashmir and Kashmiri’s in entirety. Lest a qualified man like you forgets the indices of the participation of Kashmiri populace in the democratic exercises back in 2002, 2008 & 2014, not to talk of 1977 and even those elections where the alleged rigging on few seats has been over mourned and has overtly devoured countless precious lives, who otherwise could have contributed their bit to make this world a better place to live.
One must appreciate your vigour with which you’ve attempted to eulogize the gun and violence by making a mention of Nadeem Khateeb, educated in US and born to a Chief Engineer. You’re perhaps not to be blamed for reading the swarming of gullible non combatant civilians in hordes to encounter sites to save you as a referendum in your favour, for you are essentially programmed to conveniently avoid looking at the origin of the strings of it, lying across the border in the hands of those for who the annihilation of emotive we and our fellow Kashmiri’s is just a very minute collateral damage in the larger game. If violence and firearms were ever a nailing solution to the global conflicts, then why on earth have bequeathed problems after World War I & II? Gullible and emotive minds like you have utterly failed to discern that armed conflicts have only deepened global fissures and bifurcated the world into multiple polarities. Polarities that continue to be in a hostile relationship with each other.
Dr. Sahab, you’re unknowingly I would want to believe or strategically attempting to carve a free for all – ring of directionless warlords. Hypothetically speaking, I wonder how long you would be able to feed the satiety of wild war instinct of these warlords if this mission of theirs is accomplished where they’d be left without a direction. What would you do then? Keep on generating war after war, conflict after conflict to keep these warlords relevant and going? Or do you my educated friend assume that those having taken the bait of the narrative that education, life and being a better human being are far less glorified than gun and violence would be running the affairs of your independent state? I am sorry Dr Sahab, from where I see this; it all appears to be a naked dirty dance of anarchy and lawlessness devouring human lives right and left on every minor pretext of not living up to the megalomania of these new age warlords. The war mongers would drag the susceptible souls by bonnet as a tactic and escape being punished for immorality for the lack of absolute constitutional and systemic accountability.
Is this what you wish to pass on to your GenNext?
